The Fastest Location feature connects users to the optimal VPN server for their network with a single click, while a new native Mac app delivers smoother performance and a desktop-first interface. These updates reflect ExpressVPN’s continued investment in performance and platform-native experiences for users worldwide.

Fastest Location auto-connects to the optimal server

Fastest Location is now available on iOS, Android, and macOS, streamlining setup and ensuring users always experience optimal performance. By automatically identifying the most suitable VPN server based on real-time conditions, quicker connections and lower latency are more accessible than ever.

The redesigned home screen simplifies setup, removing "Smart Location" and "Recent" sections to highlight key display connection indicators like time protected throughout the week and Secure Device Assistant.

With this update, ExpressVPN also improves transparency in its location list by showing the connection strength of the top three or top five fastest servers. These automatically refresh when a new optimal location is detected.

A first-class experience on Mac with Mac Catalyst

ExpressVPN's new native Mac app marks a major step forward, delivering a smoother, more natural experience for desktop users. Designed specifically for macOS, it launches faster, feels more responsive, and looks right at home on the laptop and PC.

Until now, ExpressVPN on Mac has used a version originally built for iPad, made possible through Apple's cross-compatibility features. While that approach worked well and included the same features, we saw an opportunity to take things further, building a truly native app that feels and performs like every other first-class ExpressVPN experience.
